Only Ravager and Charger have active companion unlocks in the current Early Access build. The other silhouettes visible in records or companion slots cannot be recruited in Version 0.11.57863.
If your collection stops at two companions, the save is not missing a hidden objective. Paper Cult lists additional companions among planned Early Access content, but has not published their release dates or unlock conditions.

The unavailable names come from current-build records. They identify planned or preserved content, not companions a player can obtain today.
How to unlock Ravager
Ravager’s recruitment event appears at Forest Tower during Act 1.
- Check the Act 1 route for Forest Tower.
- Reach the companion event rather than assuming every visit to the region is a recruitment event.
- Complete the event and accept Ravager when the recruitment choice appears.
- Return to the village and confirm the companion appears in War Preparations.
The event depends on the generated route, so a run that does not show Forest Tower cannot complete this unlock. Start another campaign and inspect the new map rather than searching unrelated battlefields.
How to unlock Charger
Charger is recruited from the companion event at Forest Monoliths in Act 1. The event requires the campaign inventory to contain at least two equipment items.
- Collect two or more equipment items before reaching Forest Monoliths.
- Choose a route that reaches the companion event there.
- Complete the event and accept Charger.
- Verify the new companion in War Preparations after returning to the village.
Reaching Forest Monoliths without the equipment requirement does not prove the unlock is broken. The condition must already be satisfied when the event checks the current campaign.
Why the event may not appear
Campaign maps are generated from the currently available route and event pool. A companion event can therefore be absent from a particular run.
Before repeating the campaign, check:
- whether the correct location appears on the Act 1 map;
- whether the node is the companion event rather than another event in the same region;
- whether Charger already has two equipment items available for its requirement;
- whether the game is running the current standard branch;
- whether the companion was recruited but not selected in War Preparations.
Do not spend time trying to force Burning, Chain, Doomsayer, Gambler, Satellite, or Vortex. Current-build data marks them as unobtainable.
Companions, commanders, and troops
These three layers serve different parts of army preparation:

If a recruited companion is missing
- Finish the event and allow the campaign transition to complete.
- Return to the village rather than looking only at the active battlefield HUD.
- Open War Preparations and check the companion selection.
- Confirm the current companion-capacity limit.
- Restart the game once if the roster did not refresh.
- Check the latest official patch notes before repeating the unlock on an older build.
Do not dismiss a commander or restructure the battalion to solve a companion-selection problem; those are separate roster systems.
