Brienne’s supported build centers on Direct-Hit momentum. Consecutive Direct Hits increase her damage, taking damage resets that buildup, and Dodge preserves the current combo so she can evade and continue.
The build therefore values safety and repeatability before a larger finisher number.
Build at a glance
| Part | Priority |
|---|---|
| Core loop | Build meter safely, use Special on a captain, preserve the resulting Direct-Hit count |
| Defense | Dodge regeneration, movement control, and a fallback Block or Parry |
| Damage | Repeated-hit, Strike, and finisher value that can land without trading |
| Utility | Group control or a debuff that keeps priority targets inside the pressure window |
Direct-Hit combat loop
- Build Special meter on fodder or with short, safe strings against captains.
- Move close enough that the Special will not spend its opening hits chasing the target.
- Lock on when useful and activate the Special on the highest-priority captain or a tight group.
- Use the invulnerable flurry to raise the Direct-Hit count.
- Continue with safe Strikes or a confirmed finisher; Dodge mid-combo to preserve momentum.
- Disengage rather than take a hit that resets the entire buildup.
Current player reports consistently describe the Special as a Direct-Hit builder and safety window, not only a one-button damage finisher.
Weapon choice
The starting vambrace already supports a long five-Light chain into Heavy, but a full chain is valuable only when all of it lands safely.
Current-build data shows:
- Weapon 2 comes from the Arena unlock pool and offers Heavy-led strings.
- Weapon 3 costs 15 Meteor and includes Block- and Dodge-led routes.
- The fourth weapon comes from its own event and adds both Light- and Heavy-led strings.
Players report stronger Act 3 consistency with weapons 2 and 4, but that is community experience rather than an official tier order. Use the weapon whose movement and finisher you can keep on target.
Emblem priorities
- Put the first useful effect on Strike or Dodge because those actions already support the loop.
- Take repeated-hit or Direct-Hit-compatible value before a slow payoff.
- Use control or a debuff when champions keep leaving the attack line.
- Add Special generation when it creates more safe flurry windows.
- Add Heavy or finisher bonuses only when the full chain lands consistently.
Community players report success with Omenbearer/Linked, Lightweaver-style finisher value, Ravager setup effects, Crusader support, and Gambler crit routes. The shared principle is more reliable than the family name: the effect must activate during Brienne’s repeated hits without forcing a trade.
Boss and co-op use
On bosses, save the Special for a close, stable target window or use its invulnerability through a mechanic you cannot safely contest. In co-op, Brienne can keep boss attention, but she should not remain in front after Direct-Hit momentum has already been broken.
Ruadh healing or another player’s control can extend uptime, but the Brienne player still has to preserve Dodge and camera control.
Common mistakes
- Building Direct Hits and then waiting too long to use the Special.
- Activating Special from too far away and missing early hits.
- Holding forward through a target after the camera loses alignment.
- Forcing a long finisher through an incoming tell.
- Ranking weapons only by total combo damage without considering tracking and safety.
